7th Science and Technology Week in Extremadura

Primary school students have learned about the importance of the science and technology developed at the High Technology Incubator in Bioeconomy and Circular Economy thanks to the activities carried out in the framework of the 7th Extremadura Science and Technology Week.

The different workshops have addressed issues such as the concept of pH and its measurement through a natural product like red cabbage, the manufacture of biopolymers, with a practical example using potato starch and cellulose, the use of vermicomposting with earthworms, the microbial world and its observation through the optical microscope or the study of insects that surround us on a daily basis.

With this day the kids were able to enjoy and see in a simple and fun way the role that science and technology play in promoting sustainable development through the responsible use of resources, the waste valorisation and the protection of the environment.
