On Friday 28 October 2022, the inauguration ceremony of the High Technology Incubator in Bioeconomy and Circular Economy, located in the facilities of the Cork, Wood and Charcoal Institute in Mérida, took place.
During this event, the President of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara, the Mayor of Mérida, Antonio Rodríguez Osuna, other officials of the Regional Administration and companies that play a driving role in Extremadura’s agro-industry, had the opportunity to learn more about the incubated business projects.
In addition, a visit was made to the laboratories and the pre-industrial pilot plant of the Incubator, where the cutting-edge technology with which it is equipped was presented and the techniques and processes that can be carried out there to support technology-based business projects aimed at generating new products and processes with high added value from the region’s natural resources, or from waste and by-products of the agri-food industry, were discussed.
