As a prelude to the Green Innovation Forum Extremadura, a leading event in the Spanish biotechnology industry, FUNDECYT-PCTEx, through the High Technology Incubator in Bioeconomy and Circular Economy and the Office for Innovation, organised on 16 November 2022 a round table for technological exchange between actors in the value chain ranging from the agri-food sector to the development of products or processes for the pharmaceutical or cosmetics sector, to identify common challenges, analyse opportunities and potential synergies and promote collaboration strategies for obtaining active compounds, ingredients and final products for food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
After the round table, the participants visited the laboratories and the pre-industrial pilot plant of the Incubator to learn more about its scientific and technological equipment and the possibilities it offers to support business projects related to the valorisation of Extremadura’s natural resources, crops, aromatic and medicinal plants, or by-products and waste from the agri-food industry.
